Progressive lenses

Progressive lenses, also called multifocal lenses, provide smooth and comfortable vision at all distances – far, near and everything in between. Thanks to seamless transitions between viewing zones, switching focus from distance to near becomes effortless, for example when driving and checking your GPS.

At our optical stores in Estonia, our optometrists provide professional eye examinations and personalised progressive lens solutions tailored to your lifestyle.

What are progressive lenses?

As part of the natural ageing process, the eye gradually loses its ability to focus on near objects. This condition, called presbyopia, typically becomes noticeable after the age of 40.

Progressive lenses are specially designed to correct presbyopia by combining three vision zones into one lens:

  • Distance vision (top part of the lens)
  • Intermediate vision for computer use and daily activities
  • Near vision for reading and close work

Unlike traditional bifocals, progressive lenses have no visible lines. The transition between distances is smooth and natural, providing a modern and comfortable visual experience.

Best vision with personalized multifocal lenses

Designed to provide clearer, more comfortable vision in every situation

Modern lifestyles filled with smart devices, changing work environments and diverse hobbies put more strain on our eyes than ever before. Screens are viewed at closer distances, which can cause eye fatigue, headaches and a narrower field of vision. Personalised progressive lenses, such as MySelf, are designed based on your unique vision profile and daily needs. Their advanced design offers wider viewing zones and reduces the typical “swim effect,” making adaptation significantly easier.

Premium progressive lenses by Hoya

We offer high-quality progressive lenses from Hoya, one of the world’s leading lens manufacturers. Hoya is known for advanced lens technology, precise optics and personalised lens solutions.

Getting used to multifocal lenses

Wearing your lenses consistently helps ensure the best possible experience

It is normal to need a short adaptation period when starting with progressive lenses. Your eyes and brain need time to adjust to the different viewing zones. It is recommended to start wearing progressive lenses early, when the difference between distance and near vision is still small. The initial adaptation period may feel unusual, as your brain needs time to adjust to a new visual experience. The best results are achieved by wearing your new glasses consistently. If discomfort persists after four weeks, visit the store – often a small frame adjustment is enough. If needed, we will recheck your vision and lenses.

Our optometrists help you find the progressive lenses best suited to your vision. Visit your nearest store or book an eye exam.
