What are single vision lenses?

Single vision lenses are designed to correct vision at one specific distance. They are the most common type of corrective lens, used to address refractive errors such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism.

Unlike progressive lenses, single vision lenses have one consistent prescription across the entire lens surface, optimised for a single viewing distance:

  • Distance vision for driving and everyday activities
  • Near vision for reading and close work
  • Intermediate vision for computer use and screen-based tasks

Single vision lenses are an excellent choice as everyday glasses for children and young people, or for adults whose vision is not yet affected by age-related changes.

Best vision with personalised single vision lenses

Our selection also includes lenses designed specifically for reading and digital device use, supporting near vision and helping to reduce eye strain throughout the day. Digitally surfaced single vision lenses suit various frame types and ensure sharp vision across the entire lens surface – even with stronger prescriptions or differences between your eyes. Individual measurements and consideration of eye movement help achieve clear and accurate vision, including at the lens edges.

Premium single vision lenses by Hoya

We offer high-quality single vision lenses from Hoya, one of the world’s leading lens manufacturers. Hoya is known for advanced lens technology, precise optics and personalised lens solutions.

Choosing the right single vision lenses

Properly selected lenses provide greater comfort, clarity and smoother adaptation.

To find the best solution for your vision, we recommend an eye test and consultation with our specialist. If needed, lenses can be enhanced with a BlueControl coating to help reduce exposure to straining blue light.

Our optometrists help you find the single vision lenses best suited to your vision. Visit your nearest store or book an eye exam.
