Contact lenses offer a discreet and comfortable way to correct your vision. To ensure safe and comfortable lens use from day one, it’s essential to have them fitted by a professional optometrist or ophthalmologist.
Initial Contact Lens Fitting – Start Safely
Contact lens fitting is ideal for anyone looking to begin wearing lenses. During the initial appointment, the optometrist will assess whether your eyes are suitable for contact lens use and select the best lenses based on your vision needs, lifestyle, and individual characteristics.
A comprehensive eye exam is included with the fitting.
Price for contact lens fitting: 50 €
During the fitting appointment:
- Your eye health is assessed, and lens prescription is determined
- Suitable lenses are selected (daily disposables, multifocal lenses, or another appropriate type)
- You’ll receive full instruction on how to handle your lenses
- The fit of the lenses is carefully checked
- At the end of the appointment, you’ll receive trial lenses to take home (Precision 1 or Dailies Total 1 lenses)
Follow-up Appointment
Approximately 1–2 weeks later, a follow-up check will be conducted to see how your eyes are adapting to the lenses and to ensure optimal vision clarity. If everything is in order, the optometrist will issue your official contact lens prescription.
Regular Lens Check-ups – Long-Term Comfort and Safety
If you’re already wearing contact lenses, it’s important to have regular check-ups to ensure your eyes stay healthy and your vision remains sharp.
Note: Your optometrist will advise whether to come to the check-up wearing your lenses or not.
During the check-up:
- Your eye health is evaluated
- Lens fit and visual acuity are assessed
- Lens type or brand is changed if needed
- Your prescription is updated

Why Are Regular Check-ups Important?
Changes in your eyes and vision can happen without you noticing. Age-related changes, allergies, or other health factors may affect which lenses suit you best. Regular check-ups help detect these changes early and ensure your lens use remains safe and comfortable.
How Often Should I Have a Contact Lens Check-up?
We recommend scheduling a check-up at least once a year or sooner if:
- Your eyes are irritated or watery
- Your vision has worsened
- Wearing lenses has become uncomfortable

Do I need a separate prescription for contact lenses?
Yes. Contact lenses require a specific prescription issued after a successful fitting and trial period. A glasses prescription alone is not sufficient. Note: If your glasses prescription is over a year old, please book a vision test before your first contact lens fitting. Come to the appointment without lenses in your eyes.

Can I try contact lenses if I’ve never worn them before?
Yes. The initial fitting is designed for beginners. The optometrist will guide you step by step through the process of using contact lenses.

How long does a contact lens fitting take?
On average, 45–60 minutes.

What happens during a fitting?
Your eye health is assessed, suitable lenses are selected, and you’ll be taught how to insert, remove, and care for them. You’ll also get to try the lenses under professional supervision.

How Should I Prepare for a Contact Lens Fitting?
- Bring your glasses, if you wear any
- If you have previous prescriptions for glasses or lenses, feel free to bring them
- Please avoid wearing eye makeup on the day of the appointment
- Do not attend the appointment if you’re unwell

Will I receive trial lenses at the fitting?
In most cases, yes. If suitable lenses are available on-site, you’ll receive them immediately (Precision 1 or Dailies Total 1). In some cases, they may need to be ordered separately.

Do I need to know which lenses I want beforehand?
No. The optometrist will recommend the most suitable lenses for you based on your vision and lifestyle – whether they’re daily disposables, multifocal lenses, or another type.

How often should I check if my contact lenses still fit well?
Usually once a year, or earlier if you experience discomfort, blurry vision, or eye irritation.

How should I prepare for a contact lens check-up?
If you already wear lenses, come to the appointment without them. If you’ve ordered lenses from elsewhere, bring the packaging or brand info. If you haven’t worn lenses recently, let your optometrist know. If you’ve been prescribed new lenses or are still in the trial phase, come with the lenses in.
